Fatayer Pie Stuffed With Cheese


2 ½ cups flour

1 tbsp sugar

1 tbsp dry yeast

1 cup warm water

2 tbsp olive oil

1 tbsp salt

Feta cheese

One egg

A little bit of water

Bake in the oven at 475F for 8-10 minutes


  1. Preheat the oven to 475°F /232°C

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup flour, 1 tbsp sugar, 1 tbsp dry yeast, 1 cup warm water and whisk together. Allow to sit for 10 minutes.

  3. Small bubbles should appear, then add an additional 1 ½ cups of flour, 2 tbsp olive oil, and 1 tbsp salt. Knead by hand for a few minutes.

  4. On a floured surface, roll out the dough and cut into small circles.

  5. Fill each dough circle with feta cheese and pinch edges together to close.

  6. Create an egg wash with one egg and a splash of water. Brush each pie with the egg wash

  7. Bake at 475°F /232°C for 8-10 minutes.
